Broad Green Pictures today has appointed veteran marketing and distribution executive Dylan Wiley as the studio’s President of Specialty Releasing.  Wiley, who has been working with the company since November, is charged with managing all aspects of the release of Broad Green’s specialty film slate across all media.

Under Wiley’s oversight, Broad Green Pictures plans to release 8-12 specialty titles annually via varying styles of exploitation, including traditional platform and multi-window patterns.  Broad Green’s specialty strategy will allow the next generation of filmmakers to see their vision reach the widest possible audience, as well as provide a platform for established filmmakers to continue to experiment and innovate. The specialty film slate will be primarily focused on acquisitions and co-productions. Additionally the studio is in development on numerous projects based on an array of materials including scripts, specs, books, life rights, and other IP-based assets to be announced and begin production in the coming months.

Broad Green Pictures’ growing specialty slate includes two titles whose acquisition Wiley negotiated for the company – Sundance standouts A WALK IN THE WOODS and I SMILE BACK – as well as the acclaimed 99 HOMES, LEARNING TO DRIVE, and three films from director Terrence Malick, KNIGHT OF CUPS, VOYAGE OF TIME and the as-yet-untitled project starring Ryan Gosling, Rooney Mara and Michael Fassbender.

"Dylan brings nearly two decades of leadership and expertise to Broad Green, in addition to his experience as a business builder," said Gabriel Hammond, CEO, and Daniel Hammond, Chief Creative Officer.  "He is execution driven with an incredible creative capacity, and shares our desire to push boundaries and create innovative marketing and distribution strategies to best fit each of our films.”

“Five minutes into my initial meetings with Gabriel and Daniel, I knew I wanted to help them achieve their ambitious and innovative vision,” said Wiley.  “We have in common a desire to bring quality entertainment to a wide audience through careful planning and deep collaboration.  I’m very proud of the initial slate we’ve assembled, and look forward to presenting it to audiences beginning this summer.”

Wiley was most recently the Senior Vice President and General Manager for Entertainment One (eOne) Films US, where he launched the company’s theatrical releasing arm and later gained oversight of marketing, distribution, licensing and sales across all media.  Prior to eOne, Wiley most notably served in various capacities in theatrical marketing at New Line Cinema, managing the release of over 90 films including the Austin PowersRush Hour and Final Destination franchises; Wedding CrashersElfThe NotebookAbout Schmidt and Hairspray. Wiley was also New Line’s Global Brand Manager for The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
